Different audio media, such as eight-track and cassette tapes, have come and gone. And, as compact discs are increasingly supplanted by digital downloads, some speculate that even the mighty CD could one day fade into obscurity. However, if unit sales are any indication, vinyl, it seems, may indeed be forever.
And be sure to check out the slide show for some pretty pictures. As for the dandelion thing: Fair enough, I suppose, but remember this…
He asked me, seriously: "You're the vinyl expert, right?"
I almost choked.
"I wouldn't call myself an expert. I've only been into this for a few months, but I'll try to help you."
I talked a lot about my newfound love for vinyl, tried to communicate the importance of the vinyl experience. But all I really got across was that USB turntables are cool.
Wait, what?! I don't know anything about USB turntables!
Oh well. So it goes.

“Good news!” Stephen exclaimed, the second I walked into his office. I saw my Usher S-520s plopped lovingly in my cubicle. “Check your email,” he instructed.
An email from JA read:

The band is now working on their follow-up. I hope it'll be on vinyl.
I stumbled upon this video last…

Love, love, love, love, love.
I cannot imagine a better way to spend $17. And I can't wait to go home and listen.
Mine is number one, for all I'm concerned.
As I held the package in my hand, the word that came to mind was heavy. There must have been some mistake. Southern Lord Records must have sent me two or three albums instead of just the one that I had ordered. The LP box was just too heavy.
But there was no mistake. On vinyl, Boris' new album is as heavy as their music.
Smile is a double-LP, packed into a substantial, silver-lined gatefold, with each individual slab of vinyl housed in its own thick, full-color inner sleeve.
It is, in every way, beautiful.
For the record: Yellow and white each garnered three votes, black received five nods, red was called for six times, and green won a total of 12 victory cries. (This does not include the two additional green votes offered by "mrlowry," although his enthusiasm is appreciated.)
Red was a bit too obvious; black a bit too boring; white a bit too Cupertino, California; and…
