I have not seen much reference to Windows Media Player in this forum. I use WMP to rip CDs to WMA lossless for playback through an external Soundblaster Audigy 2 NX connected to my laptop (via USB 2.0) and Yamaha amp/Cambridge Soundworks speakers. In adition to using WMP for ripping, I also use it as my player. I like the convenience and flexibility of the "media server" concept as opposed to loading CDs in a changer and pushing many buttons to program tracks.
Anyway, is there an inherent dislike for WMP? What are the issues? Is there something I could be doing better?
I want to find some music that I have listened to and unfortunately the information I have is sketchy. One thing I do know is that the album was released before 1983, on vinyl. I don't know if it was released on CD. The primary music is xylophone and chorus. It sounds like a chorus of all or mostly women. There are a couple of rock-ish pieces on the disk similar but not exactly like what you'd expect from Mannheim Steamroller. One piece in particular I remember they were singing either in a foreign language or nonsense. Very upbeat cheerful sounding stuff.
curious if anyone can help me here. i have an infinity system in my truck and my amp for my mids and highs keeps clipping at relatively low levels. infinity sent me bigger capacitors for the crossovers and that seemed to help a little but nothing overwhelming. when i was installing it i had one speaker hooked up and it was loud as hell and sounded crystal clear. when i hooked them all up it clips at levels that are not nearly as loud as the one speaker was. if i put lets say a 40 farad capacitor next to the amps would that solve my problem?
I recently inherited a pair of Infinity QLS-50s from my uncle-in-law, who had them in the same place in his living room since he bought them new in the late '70s. They are each about 5 feet tall and weigh about 200 lbs.
My wife won't let them in the house. I'm a novice, but is there a market for these? If so, how much do they run? Thanks!!
