I've been looking at a few amps for my system to run in both HT & 2 channel listening. My source is a Consonance Droplet5.0 tube output player, NAD T773 receiver as pre/pro, AADaudio 2001 monitors (8ohm, 86db sensitivity) The amps in question are: Mac MC252, Bryston 4BSST, NuForce ref 9, Rotel RB1090. Prices new are: Mac-$3800, Bry-$2800, NuForce-$2500, Rot-$1800. As you can see that's a pretty big pricing gap. My question is about the sonic qualities between them & if some really warrant the extra coin? For example the diff in price between the Mac & Rot is $2000.

Read the ad it claims to sound better than Cd and SACD...So Philips/Sony wasted MILLION$ of dollars in inventing DSD/SACD format? since this company can out do it, using the "old" CD discs? By reprocessing the Cd information, Hmmmmm, riiiiight. Why didn't they guys who invented the Cd know this could be done? HDCD and JVC's XRCD or whatever it was called, was useless too. The data on a Cd is what it is, it's like claiming line doublers on a tv is like HD broadcast image. Ain't never will be.

I enjoyed reading Art Dudley's article on tweaks until I came to the end and his rant against Transcendental Meditation. I've been doing TM for 30 years and have had great benefits from it. Art is undoubtedly a talented and insightful reviewer but there always seems to be some pent up anger interwoven in his reviews. Anger is always harmful particularly to the initiator - it degrades one. I'm sure Art does not intentionally mean to do harm with his anger.
