Ay Yi Yi Robot

Ay Yi Yi Robot

Watched <I>I Robot</I> while practicing work avoidance yesterday. What a steaming pile of crap based on the title of a book with the same name! You know a movie's in bad shape when even it sqaunders Will Smith's considerable charm, but <I>I Robot</I>'s biggest flaw was that it abandoned almost everything from Asimov, except the three laws (good) and a very 1940's view of what robots would be. Who needs mechanical manservants when everyday objects perform more and more of our chores?

Help Needed in Fixing Old Turntable

Hi everyone! Newbie here.

I was wondering if anyone here knew anything on a Pioneer PL-320. I rescued it from my storeroom and had the needle/stylus fixed. However, the rotation speed behaves quite erratically as I can never get the strobe lights to stay constant. They're either always moving forwards or backwards. This makes listening to vinyls really irritating.

<b>Me:</b> What? What's with the gasp of horror?<br>
<b>Elizabeth:</b> Steel yourself.<br>
<b>Me:</b> Why? Am I gonna cry? I'm not afraid of crying. I cry all the time, anyway.<br>
<b>Elizabeth:</b> No, I don't think you're going to cry. But you might wince. A lot.<br>

Help with NAD amps

Forums

I have an amp problem, that is to say I need to get a new one, and I was thinking of getting the C272 and running it with my old Adcom GFP-1A pre. It was suggested to me that for roughly the same money that I would probably be better off geting the integrated C372.

Cash is an issue,'cause I just purchased new speakers (Paradigm reference 40's) and a new cd spinner (cambridge 640). Don't run a Turntable.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Chris

Any help from someone with knowledge of the NAD line is appreciated.

I am looking at the 372 and 272 and we have no dealer here in St. Louis. If I go with the 272 it would be for the seeable future be paired with my Adcom GFP1a pre. I have been told that in addition to being old it's not a great pre anyway. Or do I go ahead and just buy the 372 integrated and be done with upgrades.

This is for two channel and I don't use a turntable. Cost is an issue and I am open to other suggestions.

Currently I have;

Kodaly: Music for Cello and Piano/Sung-won Yang (cello), Ick-choo Moon (pno)

I just want to draw attention to this EMI Classics 2002 release, which combines sonic and musical virtuosity. The performances were recorded in the Rolston Recital Hall of the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada. They were mastered at Seoul Sound Mastering Studio by David Lee and first released in Korea in 2000, subsequently being published in this EMI Classics edition in 2002.
