OK, I am having a quandry, I have a pair of Dynaco's I need to get moded and updated by the likes of someone like The Dynaco DOctor. They are MK-III's. I have been perusing the sites and see that the NAD amongst others has good reviews. I want a good 2 channel system for MUSCI, and a 5.1 for home theater. I already have enough speakers and amps for the home theater.
Should I sack the idea of going with a new NAD T7xx reciever, and just get my dyanco's updated fot the 2 cghannell stuff. I also have my eye on the axiom speakers, possably with a sub woofer.
Hey, you lucky denizens of the Big Apple!
On October 14, at the New York Hilton, Bill Nelson will be holding "Nelsonica 06."
He was the driving force, the Trent Reznor, if you will, of Be Bop Deluxe.
That will be his only live show of the year, and he usually trots out some fine Be Bop Deluxe tunes, or so I'm told.
If I hit the Lotto between now and then, I'm going.
OK, so, anyway, Be Bop Deluxe is worth getting to know.
Great band, hard for me to classify - almost a proto Talking Heads thing with their song variety and rhythms.
I stopped at Tower Records this afternoon and browsed the classical section, or at least what is left of it! (Used to be half of the room - now just three rows. Ugh!) Anyway, there was a substantial section devoted to Naxos CDs. All were priced at just 8.99, which is also the price most everywhere online. Very reasonable. I picked up the new John Rutter "Mass of the Children" release. Haven't spun it yet, but I was just wondering what everybody's opinion is regarding Naxos releases in general. Are they done well performance wise and sonically? 8.99 seems too good to be true.
