I am thinking of moving to a hard drive based source to store and replay uncompresesed music from my collection. My problem is that the devices i have seen only support the std. cd format and not SACD or DVD-A. Both these other formats have been out for some time but neither seems to be getting enough traction (is my impression)
I'd hate to invest in a good source only to find that i should have waited...
What is the word on the format wars? or don't the Plebs see any value in a better format so CD's rule KO?
thoughts?
cHECK OUT thiS WIRE ARTICLE, AUDIO IS LIKE dc..rf IS MORE LIEK dIGITAL. iF AUDIO IS MORE LIKE dc, THEN TEH ONES THAT SAY only RESISTANCE MATTERS ARE CORRECT. dc RESISTANCE, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS, YUPPER IN SPEALKER WIRE, AFFECTS DAMPING FACTOR, CONTROL OVER TEH DRIVERS. dIGITAL IS DIFFERENT. http://beradio.com/wire/radio_silent_partner_wire/
