Nowadays, when most people think of New Zealand, the first things that probably come to mind are the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings, its director, Peter Jackson, or sheep. Certainly, LOTR was a great achievement in film history and, as its auteur, Jackson reaped no small fame for his efforts, as well as multiple Academy Awards and several krillion dollars. The country is also well known as a place where sheep outnumber humans by something like 12 to 1. However, New Zealand is also the source of some very fine audio equipment; both Perreaux and Plinius are proudly headquartered in beautiful, serene, friendly Kiwiland.

One day last year, my friend Larry and I were talking about our college-fraternity days and loudspeakers. Those were four of the best years of my life. Strong friendships were formed, and ever since, we've kept in touch with most of our fraternity's brothers-in-heart. Ours was not a jock house, nor was it the last bastion of rampant male sexuality—it was, after all, an MIT frat house. But it was full of music lovers who fell neatly into three camps: the California School owned JBL Decades, the New England School had Smaller Advents, and the Renegades boasted bootlegged Bose 901s (footnote 1).

Great DK Amp Review

Thanks for a great, well balanced review of the DK amplifier.

The same amplifier ( in its earlier version) is on offer, on another Hi Fi Newsgroup. Hence the Stereophile one was Perfectly timed, for me.

All reviews that I have been pointed to, for this product, have been sooo over the top, as to lack credibility.

The Stereophile review as Very Nice. Also, it clearly mentioned the upgrade between the earlier and current versions. The technical review by JA was also superb.

Thanks & Cheers

Paging Dr. Moe, Paging Dr. Larry, Dr. Moe.... QUIET!!!!!!!!!! You Numbskull.

Oh, Dr. I thought I heard you say remove the left testicle, not, where is the remote lamp RECEPTACLE?.....I can't hear anything , it's toooo LOUD!!!!!! Hi-Fi cred is earned, not demanded.

Hola,

Just so the writers know, anyone who likes Hi-Fi has Hi-Fi cred. You don't have to brow beat me, I'm a fellow listener. If you need to be infallible, go be the Pope.

I've shivered through the March "As We See It" column about how a certain someone has better ears than those who disagree with him; he can hear the emotion and color of a piece - and if others don
