Is showing IP numbers necessary on the forums?

Recording of IP numbers in association with posts is more of a message board administration tool rather than public information. Is it really necessary? Am I the only one that noticed this? Or has the assistant editor suddenly turned pro Patriot Act overnight? Or do I suddenly have moderator rights? Can I start pinging everyone's firewall now?

Therapy

Therapy

Robert has asked me to review the new Sonic Youth album, Rather Ripped. You'd think I'd be thrilled about this. I would be, normally. But, so far, I find the new Sonic Youth album to be disappointing, an underachievement. Having to review the new Sonic Youth album is beginning to stress me out. Thus: this, therapy.

Disc cleaners and repair agents

I'm new to this forum, and thought to ask something that's been bugging me for years. Does anybody have experience with either commercial or home-made (audio) disc cleaners and scratch repair agents that they are happy with? An internet search has turned up a few seemingly good products (303 Sonic Blast, CD Doctor "GP" and "Protect", Disc Doctor Miracle Cleaner, Liquid Fusion) , but all seem to toot their own horn, with no consumer reviews. An e-mail to CD Doctor indicated they don't sell a commercial cleaner anymore, because a mild hand soap with distilled water seems to do just fine.

Why must we fight??

Just wanted to know what the heck is going on around here. There is absolutely no reason for all this flaming, name calling and bad behavior. Most, if not all, of the posts can be answered in a civil tone or at least a civil tone on the surface. Put downs can always be cleverly disguised using wit and puns, it just takes a little work. Email Clifton for guidance and advice if you run into problems.
