Precise Acoustinc Laboratories? Keith Johnson & Onkyo Speakers

Forums

I have both bookshelf and floorstanding speakers from Precise Acoustic Laboratories of New Jersey. These go back probably to around the beginning of the 1990's. I'm looking to sell them but just know so little about them to answer potential questions. Apparently what I've pieced together so far is that Onkyo hired a legend named Keith Johnson to market some speakers under the "Precise" name (apparently some kind of short-lived venture). I happened to have bought speakers that were produced by this collaboration. Can't find anything on net. These must be very rare now, lol.

And the Academy Award Goes To

In the world of dino rock, several really interesting tidbits today. For some unknown reason (I'm betting the right blend of meds), Brian Wilson did not push Mike Love off the roof of the Capitol Tower in L.A. when the three surviving Beach Boys met up there on Monday to get a framed metal-coated record signifying that their latest greatest hits compilation had turned the sales odometer over to 2x platinum.

A River In Reverse - Very Muddy

With great anticipation I ran out a bought a copy of the new Elvis Costello & Allen Toussaint CD "The River in Reverse". Played it on stereo in the office and even ripped to an mp3 and copid it to my iPod to listen to on the train ride home. I must confess to being both a long time Elvis Costello fan and a major Allen Toussaint fan, so this CD is like mana from heaven to me.

My issue blew away! Can it get any smaller?

I was trying to read my I have been a subscriber for over 12 years. I understand companies need to make a profit and that moving to Primedia was part of that. I am sure these people look at their metrics and surveys and do the bean counting. As such they propbably know what size, shape, style etc will generate the most return (as well as factoring in advertisement revnue and subscription costs etc). I am also sure they realize that even though I am complaining I'll keep subscribing. Having said all of that the magazine is almost as skimpy as the weekly's I get.

A Real Treat for Allman Brothers Fans

Just wanted to give all my fellow longtime ABB fans out there a heads up on what appears to be a hidden gem which just released by Mercury Records. It's called the "Eat A Peach - Deluxe Edition" and is a two CD "reissue" of of the classic Eat A Peach album along with a mostly unreleased concert of the original ABB from the Fillmore East back in 1971. Here's the AMG link with all the details.
