i am evaluating wheter buying them "used".
If their sound is still valid, what would the fair price be for used machines compared to new staff at present on the market?

This is my first post. It stems from the desire to get more out of the music on my computer (on a budget = $1200). My music lives solely on a Windows XP machine which I plan to use as my music server. I am considering the Slim devices squeezebox WiFi D/A processor to chunnel music around my home. I plan on feeding it's output to bookshelf speakers from either PSB or Polk through an integrated amplifier (a cheap one from NAD?). I listen mainly to alternative rock and trance. Any thoughts..? This is my first post, although I plan to write a quick "Hello to you all" by way of introducing myself in the general section ASAP.

Anyway - I have been reading the magazine (and have been a subscriber) for years and it never fails to inform and entertain...

Subscription started Jan 05, 6 months into subscription, starts receiving soliciting reminders from J.Chandler to renew my subscription with messages like "Last chance for two year savings", "Rush renewal form", etc. etc. etc.

This is one of my biggest "hot buttons".

However I understand the need to secure subscription base, fee, revenue and above all, "customer service" and all that jazz.

So that's where the "garbage bin" is useful.

Except - September issue is missing!
