What to do

Hi everyone.I am currently using a Denon 2803 av receiver with Paradigm Monitor 7's,CC-370 Centre,Infinity BETA ES250 surrounds and a PS-1200 Sub.The true stereo performance of the Denon is not great and I would like to add a component or whatever to get better stereo from it.
The path i'm thinking is either a Power amplifier connected to my Denon's pre-outs or a Integrated Amplifier the same way.I will also have a dedicated CD player for stereo. The components that i'm looking at are:
CD Player
Vincent CD-S6 Hybrid CD-Player
Power Amplifier

Rega Planet 2000 fix

I've had a Rega Planet 2000 for more than five years and have been quite happy with it. A few months ago, it started having difficulty reading some of my cds. I'd do a good cleaning and sometimes this would do the trick. Eventually it would read nothing or start skipping. I took it to a repair shop. They replaced something called an optical pickup head (Sony K55-213B) for a bit over $100.

When is HDCD not HDCD?

Last year I bought Brad Paisley's album "Time Well Wasted" on CD. It says on the back that it's an HDCD recording but when I try to play it in HDCD mode on my Audio Alchemy rig (DDS Pro, DTI Pro32, DDE v.3), the HDCD light doesn't come on. It lights up for all my other HDCD titles like "Time Out" and "The Soft Bulletin". Anybody know why this is? I have e-mailed hdcd.com a bunch of times, but they never got back to me.

John Ötvös, the father of Waveform Research Inc. and The Waveform Loudspeaker, hesitates not at inviting ultracritical examination: "The Waveform is the most accurate, the best, forward-firing loudspeaker in the world." Period. Reviewers, of course, welcome such statements, and I'll be examining that one, but I'll also try to answer the inherent reviewing question of whether the Waveform is a good place for you to park $9800 on your way to "the highest of high-end sound" (that was our slogan for the first Santa Monica High End Hi-Fi Show).
