ATS Acoustic panels / superb performers!!!

Well I just recently added a few absorption panels from ATS Acoustics (3) 2'x2'x4" & (1) 2'x4'x4". The build quality is outstanding & their fabric choices are pretty extensive. These new panels combined with my GIK monster bass trap (1) 2'x4'6" & the Echo Busters corner traps (2ea) have really put a smile on my face. It's so hard to believe what actually happens. The music just takes on a whole new presence, the bass is just so damn tight now I can hardly believe it. My friends actually checked to see if my SVS sub was on. They couldn't believe it either.

Katrina: One Year Later

Photographer David Burnett has posted his series of photographs of the Gulf coast, taken last January and published in the new National Geographic. It's stunning stuff. Burnett has the eye for both the big picture and the telling detail—his photo of the refrigerator-magnet–covered car of a worker at the garbage dump where they destroyed "white goods" is surprisingly touching and human, even though no people are shown.

RadioShack Fires Staff By Email

RadioShack Fires Staff By Email

RadioShack, the second-rate phone store that used to sell electronics, just fired 400 employees by email. Classy, no? But here's my question: Considering that the last five times I tried to buy basic computer supplies at RadioShack (yes, I'm a slow learner, but it is just around the corner), the employees treated me as if I were asking for unobtainium, are the 400 people who've been let go capable of accessing an email account to find out they've been made redundant?

Who would you...

Hola,

I've been digging the Rick Rubin Johnny Cash discs, and decided to toss out a question:

If you could pick an artist or artists to make albums with Rick Rubin, who would you pick?

In the country/alt country vein, I'd pick...

Male: Randy Travis, Lyle Lovett, and John Prine.

Female: Loretta Lynn, Linda Ronstadt, and Shelby Lynne.

In the realm of rock, I'd go...

Male: Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, and Marshall Crenshaw.

Female: Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, and and Hope Sandoval.

The new Bob Dylan album...

Bob's new disc is quite good!

Excellent, even.

Perhaps I'd go so far as to call it fantastic.

It's in keeping with the tone of his recent live shows - kind of with a country review flavor and a little swingin'.

I could see Willie stealing a few of these gems, Leon Redbone, too.

No clinkers in the lot, great lyrics, and Bob uses his voice in ways that allow him to be nicely expressive and emotive.

I'd give it a solid endorsement!
