I am not sure if this is the proper forum to place this question as I am new here. My equalizer quit this weekend. Equalization makes my stereo sound much better than using the tone controls. I am in the market for a new one, but I have only found an Audio Source one available which I have heard bad things about. It seems equalizers are very scarce now. Does anyone know of other brands they can recommend? I am looking of spending in the range of $100-$400. Any help is appreciated.

We all know this effect when two loudspeakers face each other,yet,i've seen this arrangment in quite a few manufacturer's manuals regarding subwoofer placement,where they advise you place 2 subs near the side walls,each one facing the listener and on his/her side.Is it different for subs or what ?
