I'm going to get shot down for this, but who cares? After reading on these forums and other places the streams of invective launched at the above manufacturer(?) and other similar purveyors, I thought it might be interesting to shed a different light on these dark topics.

I recently tried to place myself on IGNORE, wow. That's like a trip, it transports you into another dimension. Try it, it's really something of an experience. The images, the colors, the sounds. Self ignored, coooool.

How much? for a yet nuther unit using old chip ckts...with it's RAZOR SHARP machining!!! Homie don't want no cuts from poorly finished products....how many THOUSANDS and teh edges are razor sharp, that comes from cheap stamped processes to make stuff, cheap stuff. Godo maching well finished has smooth finished edges, i bet this is just another grossly overpriced stamped consumer product hyped into the stratosphere.

Got around to reading the February issue of Sterophile and headed first to Art Dudley's review of the Cayin A-300B integrated amplifier. Dudley's been around for decades and has always had an ear and a pen that follows his own muse.

This is how a review should be written, in my opinion.

I am new at this, obviously, and am interested in beginning to build a better system. I was wondering what is the deal with digital coaxial and optical cable in audio systems. The Rega Apollo has these connections for digital audio, but the Outlaw seems to only have analog inputs. I thought, from reading, that receivers now work with digital audio, but this must not be entirely true. What am I missing here? Who is lying to me?

For the YPAO calibration in my Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver it gives me the option to equalize based on a variety of settings, including Front, Flat, Mid, High etc.

In the manual it says to use "Front" if your front speakers are of better quality that the others. And it says to use "Flat" if all speakers are of equal quality.

I'd like your opinion on which may be best in my situation...

In John Atkinson's January article about the "Cocktail Party Effect," he references a Wikipedia article that claims, "hearing reaches a noise suppression from 9 to 15 dB." Wikipedia also references an MIT Media Lab paper: http://www.media.mit.edu/speech/papers/1992/arons_AVIOSJ92_cocktail_party_effect.pdf . In that paper we learn that "Under ideal conditions, the detection threshold for binaural listening will exceed monaural listening by 25 dB."

Green fuses, does the color sound better? Or is it the color of MONEY? UL listed, ETL, ULc DIN, IEC, KemaKluer, oh so many others, GOT LISTED?

Bout' time some things are said to not be worth the absurd prices listed, like the latest TT of teh month club. But back to the ads, how come every ad in StereoPhile has the BEST of teh best. Anthem says THEIR amp is the best no matter how much you spend!!! Ya can't do better. that can be said to be false advertising? cus the other guy a few pages down claims THEIR'S is the best this time. along with all teh speakers, cables, all saying ya can't do better than their's. How can that possibly be? The disapinting part of the MF X reviews?.......He had to throw in teh upgraded FUSE!!!
