I am considering the leap to my first turntable. My configuration consists (in relevant part) of a Linn Unidisk 1.1., Halcro SSP80 pre/pro, Halcro MC50 power amp and Linn Akurate 212s.

Has anyone given it a try? And if so what were your thoughts. Did you use 2 identical amps (vertical) or two different amps (horizontal). Did you use an external active crossover & bypass the speakers passive crossover? In the end was it worth the expense & the trouble. Just toying with the idea. I've read many positive comments & a few negatives. Thanks

What took the 800D out of the restricted extreme LF section as compared to it predessor the N802?

The Musical Fidelity website currently opens up on a discussion about "hi-fi or music system" with the conclusion leading to an "important product announcement" scheduled for 1st June 2007, which I believe was originally to be announced on 1st May.

Given the nature of the discussion (the need for sufficient power) I assume this new product will be a power or integrated amp. Given the recent additions/revamps of the kW and X series I assume the new product will be from (or replacement of) the A5 or A3.5 series.
