Hello everyone, my name is Matt and i am 16 years old. I have just recently became interested in the world of Stereos. I started out with a all-in-one Fischer turntable/receiver, and I would listen to old records. Soon enough I became interested with high-end audio equipment and slowly but surly wish to build my system.
This morning, John Atkinson and I decided to place a temporary ban on DUP. We feel that we've exhausted our options for moderating DUP's offensive behavior, and, despite our best efforts, DUP continues to be a negative presence and influence here.
We would like this negativity to stop. Our goal in banning DUP is to limit the number of off-topic and inappropriate posts, and to increase positivity and goodwill overall.
I regret that in order to achieve these goals we feel the need to ban one of our members. However, I also feel relieved and hopeful.
I am looking to build a 2 channel system mostly for a turntable. I have more or less sold myself on the P3, but have heard good things about VPI, etc, so not comletely convinced. Anyways, I am looking for the best components (integraded amp, phono stage (if not in amp), and speakers). From doing some reading, it seems either NAD, or Rega would be good choices for the integrated and B&W for the speakers. Price range would be under 2-4k, really looking for value / bang for the buck here and obviously a good match to the Rega turntable. Thanks for the feedback.
Here is a newbie question for you. I'm looking at purchasing a Denon avr-2807 as part of a new home theater. I am also planning on purchasing an Epson 1080 projector and connecting them via HDMI. I would like to be able to watch cable TV in this set up. Do I just connect the coaxial cable to one of the coax inputs on the avr 2807? And, will this receiver convert the cable signal to 480p?
Thanks
