I had an opportunity to hear the brand new Speaker from Sonus Faber a week or so ago. They are on Display in Downtown Palo Alto. THe Elipsa, from what I have read, has a driver from the Stradivari Homage speaker, and a completely new Midrange. The Soundstage is amazing. The store had them hooked up With McIntosh 501 monoblocks, a C46 and a MCD201 cd player. Has anyone else heard these speakers?
Here is the deal - total newby here. Haven't been a stereo junkie in about 15 years and am therefore clueless looking at all the options. Doing the basement in the new home and need to set up a home theater as well as sound in various other rooms. Planning to spend around 3500-4000 for the stereo system (this price is variable).
Recorded in 1958 on Bach's organ in Germany. See scanned link below for more details. Actually recorded on Somerset label LP; P-/SF-9200 - Bach: The Majesty of the Lunenberg Organ - Professor Michael Schneider [1958].
Bach: The Majesty of the Luneberg Organ; 4 track 7.5 IPS Audio Spectrum AST-303
Once again JA brings out the reality of a basically poor amplifier with a price tag of $10K!! A damping factor of 12 !!! That must be a loose wooly ill defined 1940' sounding turd. Come on, and of course teh subjective reviewer gives it his blessing how wonderful it sounds. How on earth can such a design be nuetral in reproduction? Freq resspone shows a very limited range this is 2007 lotsa amps are down to DC -500kHz..I know mine are. With slew rates of 800V/uS to make things sound ALIVE. The $10 K unit sounds like one over privced under performer.
Does anyone know of an audio reciever that has an integrated Blu-ray player? I'm looking to replace my current receiver that has a dvd player integrated and would like to upgrade to a Blu-ray player if there is something like that.
Thanks.
