Is it safe to eat? Teh WAL-MART crowd loves Chinese goods. WAL-MART is China BIGGEST trading partner. WAL-MART is a disaster. It pays it's workers (ASSociates) Chinese wages , but too bad this is teh United States. Why did it take China 5000 years to all of a sudden become relavant in the world, while countrys like Geramny, France, The NetehrLands, U.S>, have developed ideas concepts, ways of living that people enjoy. Henry Ford pioneered the concept of making stuff for the masses, at affordable prices.

Apple Lossless is NOT lossless when compare to AIFF

Just discovered that Apple lossless file (burnt from a Mac to a CD-R at 1X) sounds compressed (at all higher frequencies, and lost of 'ambience') when compared to any faithful AIFF files that is closest to the original music from a CD. Does anyone have the same experience ?

How to solve the storage problem if I have to store every music copies as AIFF files and not Apple Lossless files any more ?

Sub-HighLevel query

I'm posting this question here because I don't see where else on this board to ask the question. To wit:

I have a system that suits my needs for (in my case) serious listening (tuner, amp, turntable, cassette, reel-to-reel, CD changer w/mp3/wma, aux, iTunes-via-airport, direct PC input, 4.1 and 5.1 amp/speaker support, multi-output 8 ohm, etc.).

Now I would like to install a "whole house" background system. I have everything I need, EXCEPT the basic system.
