Magic cables are always on teh front covers of audio selling magzines, always another "breakthrough"!!!! Physics is always being redone in audio selling. Why did it take you 20 years? and all you did was a piece of wire? Esssh Bill Gates made $100 BILLION and lost $60 in 20 years!!! Now why is YOUR piece of wire any different than the previous breakthrough? and to think, all the labs at Philips, GE, Siemns NIST, an dso many others, missed this one. Are you the next Bill Gates? Nobel prize for something, probably not, how much is this magic list price?
My MMF-5 has always from day one had terrible cueing accuracy. Is there anything that can be done about it? I love the table, and it sounds great with my V15 Type 3, but the cueing is really bad. It seems to drift the most when cued up. Any suggestions? The table is level, and the V15 is passing all the tracks on the Shure obstacle test record at 1 gram. I get no audible mistracking at all. perhaps it does have something to do with the Anti-skate pulling the arm outward. I will try to post a photo of the anti skate weight tomorrow.
Any suggestions for a decent 5.1 amplifier on a budget? I'm thinking of modestly entering the world of home cinema. Hate to use the expression yet again, but looking for best 'bang for the buck' - $1000 would be an absolute upper limit. System's in a small apartment living room, so big volume would be unnnecessary... also not planning to use a sub.
Cheers.
So about this time last year I came onto these forums, under a different name (I can't remember what it was), and was asking around about a cheap entry level audiophile set up. After looking around and never committing I called off my search. Now I'm back again and trying to stay even cheaper than before. I'm away for school and currently unemployed, so most of my money goes straight to the universities pocket. Ok so no more of that nonsense, I've been reading around and wondering if I could just get a decent headphone set up.
In the "other" magazine Tara is selling AIR now as the way to go, previous science of the month had vacuum, didn't it, now how can both ends of the atmospheric spectrum deliver the sonic marvels claimed by this mfg? And they tagged made in U.S.A., could that be true maybe or.......didn't they get snagged for moving labels, wonder if they also mess up when they put teh directioanl arrows on them cables, and people are listening backwards!!
