Siltech Debuts the Pantheon Loudspeaker

The invitation looked intriguing: "We are happy to welcome you to The Netherlands in September for the offical introduction of the Siltech Pantheon Loudspeaker." <A HREF="www.siltechcables.com">Siltech</A&gt; introducing a loudspeaker? I was well familiar with the Dutch company, celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, as a cable manufacturer. Indeed, some of the first high-end cables I had found to sound better than what I had been used to were Siltechs, back in the mid-1980s. Paul Bolin had been impressed by his <A HREF="http://www.stereophile.com/cables/1004siltech">auditioning of more recent G5 models in 2004</A>. And Siltech's founder, Edwin van der Kley, is married to the irrepressible Gabi van der Kley, principal of Crystal Cable with whom I had had a rather intense breakfast meeting with during last May's <A HREF="http://blog.stereophile.com/he2007">Home Entertainment 2007</A>. (<I>All</I> conversations with Gabi are intense.) But loudspeakers?

Semi new comer looking for advice on new equipment

First off I'm sure this gets asked a lot but, I need some help choosing new equiment. I currently have a stereo thrown together from a bunch of different pieces on craigslist, it sounds good but not anywhere near what my ears would like to hear. Heres what I'm looking for:

I'm only looking to spend around 2,000 in total(I'm a college student and audio is something I love so I've been saving). I would love to have

Placette review

Driect sales only, why now reviews of VanAlstine stuff, same sales method. I also like how Gordon holt mentions advertising will guarantee a favorable review, in his previous job before he started StereoPhile...StereoPhile is now advertising supported publication...why is StereoPhile differetn from any other ad supported magazine? Busienss wise, it can't be. He also mentions, no advertising, no reviews to the product, why no AVA reviews in all these years, AVA been doing it almost as long as StereoPhile 40+ years!!! G.H.

Gordon holt

He says Double BLIND tests are the only way to go....why does his former magazine say otehrwise? He aslo says there is a lot of BS in high end audio, pseudo science...hmmm, anyone for demagnetizing some plastic, how bout' some magic wires and wood blocks....hmmmm, wood G.H. even have reviewed such crap? audio hobby is dying , it does itself in, due to all teh crap nonsense being sold to teh gulliable, he knows.

MF more of teh same

Again he has fabulous TT's ...he thinks at $24,000 it will be a hard sell!!!! At $100K...it's just what? and of course, his mention of teh continuum, in a fleeting glance, "interesting" said nothing. Maybe his overpriced $24K unit sounded like his OK priced TT? at $100K, or did he find he didn't hear any differences, and started to weep over his just cleaned LP's.............And if he takes up the request by Randi, he could pay off the "in hock" for that $100K TT...which he described as going into in a previous edition.

The most gen

Forums

I recall teh Roman young generation, spurred on by lust, greed, vomitoriums, orgies, and basic party fun. They threw people to the lions for fun. They had Fidelisus Maximus units playing Lute music at ear deafening levels in the Roman bath section in the San Francisco section of Rome. THAT was the most depraved, spoiled gen known to man...and men who acted like woman.
