With my new 2-channel system up & running, it's time to start rebuilding my CD collection with audiophile quality. Has anyone compiled a list of audiophile recording companies by genre? For example, I have been very pleased with the jazz offerings by Mapleshade. Thank you.

i am looking for a good integrated amp under 150 dollars...doesn't have to be new, just over 25 watts. it is for some speaker lab speakers...ones i think.

I'm curious: What is it about Zu speakers that prevents them from being reviewed by Stereophile?

just order a pro-ject expression 111 as i wanted something better then the project debut which i thought was a great for price , any one out there have experice with the expressin and what are some good cartrige upgrades up to around $200 mark

For those who are curious, here are my first impressions of the Rega Ios Phono Stage.

This unit is a Solid State, MC-only Phono Stage with adjustable gain and loading.
Loading options are 50, 100, 150, 300, & 400 Ohms.
Gain options are 64 dB or 70 dB.
DC Ohms resistance options are 6.25, 8.75, 11.25, 13.5, & 15 Ohms.

There is also a notch filter at 8.5Khz. This is variable from 0dB to -6.5dB. This is said to help

I'm a bit baffled that the review of the Linn didn't at least make a passing comparison to the (far cheaper, but apparently extremely capable) Transporter? I'm not sure if the the Transporter handles the hi-rez files that the DS does, but still - surely it's the obvious choice for a comparison?

I also don't understand the opening comment 'Even the most savvy Stereophile reader might wonder what a "network music player is"'. Presumably, almost every Stereophile reader has heard of (or owns!) a Transporter?
