Los Angles may be close to loosing a land mark. In a city where almost nothing is old and a general sense of history is lacking, Capitol Studios is under threat. The Capitol Tower was designed by architect Welton Becket and opened in 1956 at 1730 Vine Street. A developer has purchased the land next door and intends to build a 16 floor condominium high rise, complete with underground parking. That subterranean parking would only be 18 feet away from the legendary echo chambers. The construction would make the chambers and studios unusable, at least temporarily.

About a year-and-a-half or two years ago or so, I bought an EMI twofer on Youri Egorov playing piano works by Robert Schumann. A good number of Schumann fans and piano fans had written comments ranging from the strongly favorable to the dizzyingly effusive about the set and Egorov

Got an iPod 80GB for father's Day, which I planned to load up with lossless files and use around the house when I didn't have time for loading up real CDs or records. The long-term plan was to get one of those Wadia docks and a good DAC but after some careful comparisons I think I'll be holding off for a bit.

I did a google search and searched this forum to see if I can find any recommendation for a front 3 speaker kit for around $300. I just need something that wont break and has an ok sound. Very much appreciate it thanks.
