How robust is speaker imaging?

Aloha,
I was reading about sound localization and perception, and it made me start to think about speaker imaging, which made me wonder about what people notice.
Does "imaging" seem fragile to you?
When I listen, I will often 'look' to where the apparent (illusory) 'source' of a given sound may be in the presentation of my Hi Fi. For instance, if a sax player seems to be stage left, I will often look to where I think that player would be.
Good amp to drive Spendor S5E?

I have just purchased a set of Spendor S5E speakers and have been surprised to find that my Cambridge Audio 840A is having a heck of a time driving them. I have since seen reference to the fact that these speakers are inefficient (even though rated at 8ohm, more like 4 ohm). I do love their warm sound though, so at this point am contemplating moving the amp out of my system. Any suggestions for good integrated amps to drive these? I favour full, dynamic sound - not laid back. Am thinking perhaps a Naim Nait 5i, Creek Classic 5350SE or Primare I30 might do the trick.

Bought Bill Frisell's EXCELLENT "History, Mystery" 2-CD album. Unlike his great collaboration with Motian & Ron Carter on Nonesuch, this record is more of a compositional album. I'm so impressed by this one. I listened to it in my new basement listening room/study, lights off. One of those rare records that penetrates into your thought patterns & incites you to think that YOU are dreaming up that music. I know I'll have this record on when I'm writing.

How often do you get it, this audio ennui?
I've been out of town alot lately, and I'm starting to think about sound in some new digs, even before I have any new digs. When this happens, I don't think enough about what stuff is in the garage, mind only drifts toward what's new!
I think I am usually a faithful owner to my gear, and try to only shop when something amazing catches my ear, or some beloved piece goes to the big sound room in the sky, but every now and then...
Do you ever get the itch for no apparent reason?
What's your "interval?"

Just when you thought you'd not hear high quality recording posted online by a radio station: how's 377kbps / 44kHz 16-bit ASF (Windows Media) strike you? Listening now it sounds fantastic, much better than the FM signal from WNED-FM in Buffalo. The recording is very clean though I've heard the accompanying piano clipped a few times on peaks (well it wasn't the piano that clipped, of course). Even the applause sounds uncompressed (usually a dead giveaway). Recorded this week in the acoustically perfect Kleinhans Music Hall. The link:

Is one of the claimed "benefits"...hmmm, so I could power my entire house from this...how does it have " unrestirceted" power delivery. I guess they have outdone super condutors, physics etc. Cus' last time I've read a wire chart, certain guage wires are rated at certain "ampacitys" at certain temperature ratings. Once again, this is nonsense, audio BS, who buysinto this crap? $800 for an AC line crod? Is it even UL listed, ETL? A $3 extenstion cord is at least. Unrestricted, did they TEST it to do that? Cus' they better patent an un restricted cable, cus' no one has that!!!
Remove a ground terminal, has magic copper materials, and now, thinner is better than fatter, since fat wires are just so passe', need a new marketing approach, now THIN sounds better.....amazing how this happens. http://www.psaudio.com/products/xstream_power_statement_sc_overview.asp
