Folks,
Our illustrious Michigan J. Frog and I have been emailing to plan a possible get-together to assess various tweaks. With his approval I'm posting this publicly to establish some agreeable guidelines. To my way of thinking, a test of tweaks means we both take turns listening and try to identify when a third person puts the tweak in place, unseen to the person being tested.
Hola,
Since we have loads of questions about upgrading systems, it has made me curious to see if people have "upgrade philosophies."
I love those kinds of questions, and even on an "Entry Level" forum, it is often very enlightening to see people's recommendations!
For my own part, I think I tend toward "saltatory" rather than incremental upgrade paths.
Hey! It's full on disc golf season, but I don't have a Hi Fi rig that runs on batteries and has a handle.
Anybody have any recommendations for what to carry with my gin n' juice as we toss disc?
Big Mike modded one once, but it ended up weighing about 90 pounds - tough to crank and blast California Love while we threw disc.
You can tell by the pic that I would be happier packin' tunes on the disc golf circuit.

No iPod stuff, disc golf is communal.
I have been seeing reviews bragging about a "500" watt power transformer in a class A operated preamplifier that draws only 200 milliamps?
Any justification?
