Back when I posted my previous question, I had decided to get a Rega P3. Before the exclusive dealer had brought that where I was then based (Athens, the original one), I moved to Maryland! (I wonder if he ever did... Talking about monopolies...) And now I don't have my old speakers and amplifier with me. Sure enough, there is a dealer nearby where I can get the Rega - but what about the rest? I have no idea what is happening in that part of the market, and I don't know what brands to look for. So...

I can pick up a pair of these used at a very good price, but I'm wondering if I'll need a sub. Any thoughts on that?

Aside from the recording restrictions imposed by Digital Rights Management, what effects does it have on sound quality?

I am just getting into some of this high end audio stuff and was unsure as to whether i should be considering a solid state or tube preamps/amps. i was planning on getting some Martin Logan electrostatic speakers, while the pair i was looking at for the front have a built in amplifier, the rear do not. i am not sure as to what the pros and cons are of the two different technologies. any help would be greatly appreciated.
