So, Classic records is having a tough time filling orders. Anyone else been experiencing this? Apparently, since vinyl has been selling so well again, the pressing plants can't press records fast enough (since the major plants closed in the 90s). I heard Warner Brothers bought RTI (I guess one of the major pressing plants in the states), so it will only press WB records now.
Anyhow, sort of interesting.
In the Oct 2008, I read Sam's review of the Grace m902 with interest as I'm considering a headphone amplifier and also "simplifying" my system at the same time, and the Grace m902 seems to fit the bill nicely.
However I am unsure what the Stereophile Recommended Components Class rating of the m902 as a preamplifier is? In the Recommended Components list, the m902 is rated Class A as both a DAC and Headphone amplifier but no mention of it in the Preamplifier ratings section.
Hi,
Recently acquired one of these but am having difficulty getting it to track the vinyl ahead of my stylus.
Does anyone have any tips on setting these things up?
It's a "standalone" arm with a counterbalance and carbonfibre brush which (I assume) should be mounted on the opposite side of the platter from the tonearm.
Any tips would, as ever, be very much appreciated.
This is the arm in question.
Kal: I was wondering. I recently saw a new Blu-Ray player (the new Sony BDP-S550) that now incorporated TrueHD audio output, which could go out via HDMI v1.3 digital, OR separate analogue channels. Would this mean that one could get the player and have HD audio without having to get a new surround preamp processor? Is that the idea you think, or am I missing something?
