Any Bhangra aficionados?

I find something very compelling in good Bhangra, but it is a style of music where I don't yet have my feet.

Anybody here really dig and have some favorites lists they can share?

I'll get my act together and list my favorites to compare...tomorrow.

Tonight has been too full of 2001 Les Dix and Alaap and Labh Janjua to remember anyone else.

At the risk of sounding ethnocentric, you could have fooled me into ordering some Alaap with naan and a side of Labh Janjua and I wouldn't have known better when I was a young buck.

Home brew record cleaning rituals/techniques?

Aloha,

I used to say, "Necessity is the mother of strange bedfellows."

Now, it's the mother of home brewed record cleaning.

Any of y'all invent your own fluids?

I been trying to the last few days and have come up with Buddha's Fluids V1.0.

Thusfar, I have arrived at:

10 Oz distilled water.

6 Oz. 91% Isopropyl alcohol.

3 drops Cascade Crystal Clear (sheeting agent.)

1 big drop (thick drop?) Sun Light "Oxi Action" dishwasher liquid.

"Micro Fiber" towels and round cleaning pads from Auto Zone.

JA/Harbeth Review

First, after looking at the in-room response of the Harbeths at JA's Brooklyn home I was surprised that he was not raving about their sound. I can understand the issues at AD's home, even with the Audio Notes. but AD loves his Audio Notes, as JA did. Even taking that into account, the photos show the stand heights for both seem approx. the same, but the Audio Notes woofer is considerably higher, more removed from the floor boundary.

Cambridge Audio DAC Magic/Musical Fidelity VDAC Reviews???

Any plans to review the new Cambridge Audio DAC Magic or the Musical Fidelity VDAC? The DAC Magic is getting some really great reviews in the UK... so I'm really dying to see a Stereophile review... and how it would compare to more expensive DACs such as the Benchmark DAC1...

Not SLAM, visceral WALLOP!!!, $199,000

MBL 6010 D preamplifier Measurements

MBL 6010 D preamplifier Measurements

Don't be confused by the MBL 6010 D's oddly baroque, even retro looks. Behind all the glitz—the oversize, perfectly finished, black-lacquered faáade; the two big, solid brass knobs plated with 24-karat gold; the ornate lettering; and the incongruous digital volume display—resides a thoroughly modern, remote-controlled, unusually versatile, and well-thought-out solid-state preamplifier. Not that the 6010 is a new design. It's been around for a long time, and the current "D" iteration is at least five years old.
