Hola,
A recent follow up on the Musical Fidelity Super Charger 550K really got me smoldering the brain coals.
On the one hand, it was Stereophile Recommended Component Class A in October 2007.
In the follow up, it sounds like it kind of falls short. And that's putting it nicely.
What happened?
Why is this relevant?
Music Direct has them half off until the end of the month. 2500 bucks for a potentially "Class A' rig, or, a box of sonic ennui?
How about a follow up to the follow up?
Not jazz, not rock, not specifcally about any given type of gear...favorite sax player?
Felice Navidad, y'all.
This week is Ben Webster week at Casa Buddha de la Temoporario Chico California, and it made me wa-wa-wonder...
Who's you absoulte favorite sax player?
For me, it is Gentle Ben, Ben Webster.
Playing the Dig Ben Storyville release each night this week, and digging His Smoothness.
Mrs. Buddha is a staunch Coltraner, bar none. She's played the Coltrane and Monk disc more than I have.

Hi,
This is bugging me:
Let's say you are the chief investigator in a drug operation. You have wire taps approved by the court, and you find a suspect who is setting up a drug deal with a buyer...they've talked about it on the phone and you have tapes...so you move in and arrest the dealer before the drugs are in place and the buyer has handed over the money and taken possession of the drugs.
You get no drugs and all you've got is two guys talking about a deal.
Premature edjudication?

I read that loudspeakers have 2% distortion at average listening levels. TWO PERCENT !! Power amps often have .01% distortion.
Why isn't Stereophile telling us this ?! And why aren't more designers building compression-driver based horns to overcome this ugly fact ? Are they *satisfied* with 2% distortion ??
