Hello all,
I hope you folks might be able to help me with a technical question for my first post.
I am in the process of converting my cd collection to flac files I can store on a media server.
Using EAC to create the flac files, I am presented with a screen that shows the uncompressed and compressed sizes of each track. Once the flac file has been generated a much larger file is produced from what EAC originally displays.
I got this email from Paste Magazine for a free mp3 download of the latest album by the group The Damnwells. I'm listening to it as I type and I must say that the album is pretty damn good and well worth downloading.
Here's the link:
Here's the text of the Paste email:
Awesome!
With apologies to Sony.

Hi all, I'm new to the forums. I need some help with a stereophile audio set up for my new pc, which I'll be using as a source for a 2 channel hifi system, for playing flac and wav (ripped cd's from my collection) audio files.
My PC has an Asus P5N7A mother board with Realtek onboard sound card, which I'd like to skip, and an Optical SPDIF output.
After some searching I selected these configurations, which I deem the most cost effective.
