I just wanted to let my fellow jazz fans know that the reissued Rudy VanGelder masters are outstanding recordings. I am currently listening to a Stanley Turrentine recording called "That's where it's at" and one would be surprised to learn that this recording is over 40 years old but then again that is what happens when you have a great engineer recording sessions.
My man, Joe. Singing it like it is. And that's no lie, Fred.
You guys got a visitor. A 747 with a fighter chase plane. Christ, what were they thinking? If I was responsible for not one but two different 747s I would know where they are at all times. One of the stupidest things I have seen a president even remotely responsible for. What an idiot. It's something like I would get banned for crying out loud. But I would do it because I'm such a prankster. "It was just a joke!"
Yikes!
Specter is a Democrat!
Who's next, Hatch?
(I happen to be a liberal who really likes Hatch, by the way.)
When was the last 60-40? Mid-70's?
I don't think a super majority is such a great thing to happen, and it's my party that did it. I like the compromises necessary to make for balanced legislation.
60-40?
Can you say, "Supreme Court Justice Jello Biafra?" (Too bad GG Allin is dead, eh?)

It seems mc cartridges are the vast majority of cartridges reviewed/recommended these days but it wasn't always so. I suspect the cost difference has a big part to do with it (the usually true axiom, you get what you pay for), but is there any objective information as to the differences in why one would be better than the other? Better frequency response and that kind of thing.
