A friend of mine who knows I'm a bit of an audio nut asked me about the ARCAM FMJ AVR600.
He would start off using it as a 2 channel system, then grow into a full home entertainment system over time.
I have never heard of this before - info / opinions welcome.
thanks!

Are audiophiles born or are they created? Are "Golden Ears" an innate talent (nature) or can you train yourself (nurture) to be a critical listener?
As Ben Webster's biggest fan, it pains me to give a thumbs down to "Dig Ben."
This is an 8 disc set worthy of one or two discs.
Many performances are perfunctory, and the recording quality less so.
On the up side, here's another change to tell y'all to go by his better regarded releases and make your life better!
Mr. Atkinson
I've been a keen follower and subscriber of Stereophile for many years. I applaud the transparency with which you run the magazine, especially the criteria for a component to be reviewed, your stance that it's all "on the record" when it to component breakages during a review, and that every review begun will be published regardless of the consequences.
and only 1495.
I cant say much, given that I paid twice that for Sequoia, but still.
No more waxing lyrical in the HiFi press from Mr. Gregory with such terms as "coherent cable loom from socket to speaker"....
Why, you say?? Well, because Roy Gregory has become the VP of Marketing for Nordost.
I find it disgusting, personally... but I reckon that sort of nonsense happens more than we realize.
Using his position at the mag to promote a product that he now has a commercial interest in.. classic.
Well, it looks like one should get an Emmeline the Predator or a Total Bithead. The latter has the crossfeed circuitry, the former does not. Any useful opinions on which would be better for recreational listening? Which is easier to carry around?
Thanks.
