Discs may be getting passé, but the technology keeps maturing and most music is still released on CD. Besides, deals on used discs also abound. Are you still interested in CD players?
Hi
Saw the Dvorak special event this afternoon.
Was very impressed with Dvorak, he has very interesting style that seems like a sort of classical pop music mixed with a bit of rock, sort of like a classical Queen. The music was very easy to listen to yet had a decent sense of depth, not on the Mahler scale but certainly to me more so than Bruckner.
Hi all,
I've been trolling this forum for a few days now trying to gather as much wisdom/knowledge as I can from this group. While its been fun to look in at the world of audio fetishists, and I would love to fully immerse myself in expensive lush sounds... I'm 25 and the money isn't quite there yet.
Has anybody spent any time with the new vinyl release, "Secret, Profane & Sugarcane" by Elvis Costello? IMO, the overall pressing is lacking in quality, and the sound itself is strained and indistinct, compared to the digital examples I have heard. I wonder if this is a result of initial manufacturing struggles that Starbucks has undergone in their foray into creating vinyl, via Specialty Records.
