Kanye is a jerk, but Joe Wilson is a great American?

Kanye disrupts an entertainment award ceremony and the country goes off on him.

Joe Wilson disrupts a Presidential address to congress and gets a million dollar windfall and the love of the Palin worshippers.

Kanye gets to go on Leno, Joe Wilson gets Glenn Beck.

At least Serena was classy enough to offer an honest apology.

Maybe Wilson was astute enough to be trying to court the hip-hop vote?

MF on Graham Phantom/Artemis Lab TT

Very much enjoyed the review (thanks, MF). While I was reading the Artemis Lab TT review, I couldn't help but think how much of a bargain the TT is, then I totally hit myself on the head: it is still $7K+! One thing that took my breath away was how MF put the price of Artemis Lab TT in perspective: it costs 5% of his Continuum Caliburn. Wow.

This Just in, at 2248 Hours, Pacific Time

I don't know what time it is in France, I must confess. But Sarkozy just announced that "GDP should no longer be a measure of wealth." I saw this with mine own eyes on the oracle known as "CNBC Europe." Wherever the fuck THAT is...

No shit.

Now, who is going to come forth and announce that "wealth should no longer be a measure of happiness"?? Or the meaning of life??

I am not sure whether M. Sarkozy is a follower of Bush, Obama, or any of the lesser demons or angels. In his picture, accompanying this brave announcement, he looked worried. Or is that just me?

Does an artist's political ideology affect your listening?

Does Mahler's antisemitism matter?

Do you care if Ted Nugent is conservative, or if Bruce Springsteen is liberal?

Dixie Chicks?

Alice Cooper is a Republican, and I hear so is Kid Rock.

Does it matter?

For that matter, does Sinatra's beating up chicks affect your listening habits? Michael's pedophilia? Elton or Freddie Mercury being gay?

_________

To try to answer my own questions...

Dixie Chicks went beyond the call of duty and came off as low class and it affected my opinion of them.

It seems as if I came of audiophile age in the George Kaye era. The first truly high-end system I ever heard contained a pair of Julius Futterman OTL monoblocks that Kaye had "finished" after Futterman's death in 1979 (footnote 1). In the mid-1980s, I owned both an New York Audio Labs (NYAL) Superit phono section and a Moscode 300 amplifier—two lovely examples of high-value high-end. Both components were far from perfect, but they were fun—and, unlike most of the other components that were then highly regarded by magazines and listeners, I could afford them.
