Confused: JA's Ayre CX-7 CD player 5/2003 review

Couple of Q's. First about Ayre CDPs in general: Ayre's ad in recent Stereophile claims they were first (2002) to use CD-ROM drive. That seems hard to believe considering the date: 2002. Surely some other manuf. has used a CD-ROM drive in their CDP. Can someone clarify?

In the 5/2003 John Atkinson Ayre CX-7 review , JA noted:

Installed new speakers . . . no sound

I don't know what I did wrong. Made all connections with everything unpowered. Connected the black/red L to the black/red on L speaker, connected the black/red R to the black/red on R speaker, triple checked that I didn't cross anything. The speaker is set up for biwiring but I couldn't find anything that said which wire you pick matters. They go black, red, black, red, so I just plugged them into the top two black, red for both speakers.

Aurum cantus v3m(no jumpers)how to make jumpers?

I am the lucky owner of Aurum cantus they arrived with no jumpers. How do I make jumpers? I have lots of "clear coated
speaker wire". If I run a the speaker wire between the top
posts to bottom where do I connect the "single wire speaker
cables I have?
IF some one has a good suggestion for bi wire speaker cables for these speakers I would be interested in hearing your opinion.
Right now I have a Kinergetics KBA-75, Adcom GFP-750
and Rega Apollo cd.(Cardas innerconnets)
thanks for the ideas

Synergistic Research Acoustic ART Waterfall Graph- Proof Positive!

Synergistic Research is in the process of performing a series of acoustic measurements for the Acoustic ART System in 4 different listening rooms to be published in an open report. This report should be complete and posted by the middle to the end of November. Initial low frequency measurements are in keeping with the subjective benefits of the Synergistic Research Acoustic ART System's ability to control low frequencies in an otherwise untreated room.

It's a guy thing, dating from those sandbox days when such declarations were not only socially acceptable but expected of us: Mickey Mantle could run the bases faster than Whitey Ford, the Chevrolet Corvette was cooler than the Ford Mustang, Jimmy Page played faster than Jeff Beck, Superman was stronger than Batman. (Women, those devious serpent-hearkeners of Old Testament fame, are for once blameless: They never argue that Charlotte Bronte wrote better tea-drinking scenes than Jane Austen, or that Hugh Grant looks better in a powdered wig than Daniel Day Lewis.)
