death to big record labels
The Decade in Music, from NPR's "All Things Considered."
Does anyone have any experience with Media Monkey? I bought the program to burn WAV files from my CD's so as to move the data to a iPOD Classic. I have had a good bit of problems with the program. Specifically...
I had my entire WAV Library simply dissappear after a CClean session of trash and registry cleanup.
The program also refused to burn my CD's...I deleted and reloaded the program, had it working fine, did an update to their latest version, and now it refuses to burn CD's again.(I am using a Sony laptop and, for my sins, VISTA home premium)
Rhino Records, the label for several major artists (Led Zeppelin, Emmylou Harris, Doors, Modern Jazz Quartet, etc.) is now offering lossless downloads of portions their library - http://www.rhino.com/shop/format/Digital. The formats are Apple and WMA lossless and FLAC. The pricing is $14.99/album and $1.49/track.
The pricing is a bit high as you can buy the CD for less and rip it, but it's great to see a major label opening their library for at least CD quality downloads.
