It could have been a stupendously bad purchase or, perhaps, a cat running across the turntable while your first-pressing Parlophone Beatles LP was playing. What stands out as your biggest audio disaster?
Happy happy Christmas salutations!
I'm a fan of Zu Audio. Something about their approach to life appeals to me.
Anyway, I posted because they are having their "12 Days of Christmas" sale and today is the Druid Cradenza loudspeaker.
I'm not familiar with the sound of this model, but wanted to point out the sale in case anyone may be interested; and I wanted to see if anyone has heard them!
As I type their 'leadership' is on the tube lying about the mess. Reid promises folk will get a peak at it in a couple of hours. The CBO does not seem to have costed it, or at least the scheme's costs are not being released. No word on what Nelson's price was.
Now republicans can only slow the mess and promise to dismantle it next year when they are in the majority.
I've found myself in need of a cartridge for my table. I've looked at several sources and haven't been able to determine which I should purchase, or what is a good price. I've come upon cartridges for $40 to $2600 dollars. I'm not trying to spend to much money on this cartridge, ideally I could pick up a good cartridge for less than $100 bucks.
So any suggestions for cartridges, or good places to look for them?
Also, what should I be looking for? Why would someone pay $2600 on a cartridge?
Does anybody else think "Watching television is like watching a sewage-disposal truck driven by a talking mule crash into a burning whorehouse" is one of the best lines he's ever written? As usual, he reaches into the toilet for his metaphors, but this time comes up with some really good $H1T! Bravo!
That is, IF you like a-cappella, ranging from "Come Go With Me" to "Barbara Ann" via a whole range of the standards.
These guys are, however, good.
And the recording is good, too. Except for one track where somebody forgot to let the reverb finish...
I don't see a label or such on it, I suspect it's private label. I got it from a-capella.com (or something similar).
If you don't like barbershop and doo-wop, on the other hand, pass. That's what it is.
Oh, and avoid "The Chicken Song". Cri yi.
