Hello Everyone,
This past weekend I had the pleasure of seeing Mark Tolstrup and Paul Geremia along with Taz Cru at the Caffe Lena in Saratoga NY. Not only was it a chance to visit a very historic venue, but it reacquainted me with something that has too long been missing from my HI-FI experience. Experiencing a live performance. I think sometimes we get so caught up in the equipment and the media we use, we forget the most important thing, the music.

I highly recommend the Roky Erickson/Okkervil River album. Haven't listened to the Hold Steady or BSS albums yet.
Nice work by Art Dudley on the Advent restoration this month. It seems that I am probably the world's expert on them. This happened by accident when I restored my parent's old speakers and got a bit carried away when I went to document the Large Advent. There were more variations than I thought and I therefore wanted to know about all the differences:

More elusive than a G-Spot are those "non-Hi Fi" products that surprise the listener with their degree of Hi Hi-ness.
So, I read the reviews by REG and Soundstage and decided that for 800 bucks a pair, it was time to stick my toes into the waters of the speakers of red surrounds and guaranteed loudness and see what the Hell - is this a savant speaker priced as a lease breaker, or a genuine Hi Fi product.
Hooked 'em up. No break-in, screw it, how do they sound?
Alot like my La Scala's, so far. Then, less.
