Lousy ad

I'm not saying KEF make bad speakers, but who would wanna listen in this room? And what's with the skewed 5 speaker setup? Where are the cables? Do they really expect a serious audio listener to have such a moron setup, with absolutely bare walls and 25' to the ceiling? And what's the model doing there? Waiting for drinks? Oh, I get it: The audio-wise totally blank playboy is taking a shower before seducing her...

I'd expect that room to sound worse than horrible - much rather have my own listening room

Sugarcubes and Channels

I'm very curious about Franck Tchang's "SugarCubes". Small rosewood blocks (about the size of a sugarcube) with special channels (aka holes) drilled into them, that are used in a special grid formation to treat room resonances. For, as he says, "you do not fight a problem. You spread it around, minimize and blend it in to reduce its overall impact on the room's sonic fingerprint." His HeartSong racks (want one), which use related ideas, are to die for. And you might have to to get one, if the wood is unavailable, because orders stop at that point.

Beethoven 9th

Last day of the CSO season Sunday, also last day of the Beethoven festival.

9th by Haitink with full supporting cast, ive been looking forward to this one for over a year.

My biggest concern has been learning the whole peice so i dont waste away the first 80% waiting for the chorus !!

Reef knot

I am not very happy to report this, but it seems there is a slight difference with and without a reef knot on my Vincent XLR IC's

I can't be that sure, but it is like the high treble is a tad bit smoother and more natural with a reef knot on the interconnects. May? Anyone?
