This device is to be placed on top of the chassis which will transform resonances into friction and heat.
A short while ago I stumbled across an article about something called a "House Curve." To put it briefly, a house curve is an equalization contour which achieves "perceived flat response as opposed to measured flat response."

As a prospective owner of a pair of these, I was very interested in seeing that the V 1.5 were reviewed so favorably by JM and that they are the best speaker he's heard under $10K as well as a Class A - Restricted LF choice.
That said, there are only a couple of paragraphs about the performance of the speakers prior to JM adding $8.5K worth of interconnects and speaker cables to his system -- which is more than the retail price of the V 1.5s!
It seems that most of the review was based upon the speaker's performance after the addition of these cables.
I wonder if that genius Juan ever saw any footage of how the hijackers were dressed?
It's the guys in blue button downs and Dockers he needs to sweat about.

One of the most-frequently given answers to last week's Vote! was a variation on "trust your ears." But can your ears always be trusted?
I've purchased a Marantz PM5004, CD5004, Pro-Ject Debut III, and Grado RS2i's. Now I want to add some decent speakers, hopefully under $5-700, though I could go higher.
The glowing Stereophile review almost convinced me to splurge on the Dynaudio X12's, but I don't think the PM5004 has enough power (I'm not sure how to read it, is speaker handling the amount you NEED or the max the speaker can survive?)
Anyway, I'm a total noob and have no idea where to start, so no limitations, all recommendations welcome. I listen mostly to Jazz and Classic Rock.
I just want to give public props to Robert Baird for his wonderful interview with Manfred Eicher. Eicher and ECM have brought me so much of the music that means the most to me. Eicher's taste in music has literaly changed my life. Great choice for an interview Robert, and well done!
