why rock/metal music sucks in my system?

Hi All,

My system consists of
1. NAD T515 CDPlayer
2. Rega P3-24 TT
3. NAD PP3 Phono stage
4. NAD C352 amp
5. Monitor Audio RS6 speakers
6. Audio quest cables
7. Treated room with bass traps and HF absorbers

Why is that Jazz and classical (especially solo and chamber music) sounds great...but big orchestra or rock/metal sucks in my system. What can I do not enjoy rock music too... your help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the weakest link in my system?

I'm looking to upgrade my system and have a maximum budget of $2000USD. My current system consists of the following:
Source: Sony SCD-C555ES
Pre-Amp: Aragon 18MKII
Amp: 2X Emotiva UPA-1 monoblock amps
Speakers: NHT Classic 3
interconnects: Kimber PBJ
Speaker Cable: 1990 vintage Audioquest.

Been thinking about new speakers or a DAC. Benchmark DAC1 HDR or Dynaudio Excite X12. As a music lover, but noob when it comes to gear, I'm looking for advice. Thinking the Benchmark would be a great way to listen to high-rez files from HD Tracks, etc....

"The Entry Level" column

I was pleased to read that Stephen Mejias' column "The Entry Level is going to be featured in the magazine. It will be about "truly affordable high-end products".
I was just wondering if it will take into account all of the used equipment out there which was considered state-of-the-art for its' time but still sounds good and now is affordable, especially compared to the prices of today's upper echelon of products.

Kanye West is a genius

yes the metaphors are a little forced
and maybe a chorus that toasts to the "douchebags" is a little adolescent
but it is VERY exciting to see an artist put this much thought and work behind their material.

plus he has sex with a phoenix. pretty sure thats a first.

Kanye West's "Runaway"

(warning 35 minutes long: be sure you have the time to both watch and listen).
