LEXICON RT-10 UNIVERSAL PLAYER

I HAVE A CHANCE TO PICK UP A LEXICON RT-10 UNIVERSAL PLAYER AT A GREAT PRICE. MY QUESTION-SINCE I CURRENTLY HAVE ONLY A 2 CHANNEL SYSTEM, MCINTOSH C2200 TUBE PREAMP, MCINTOSH MC252 POWER AMP, WOULD I BE ABLE TO BENEFIT FROM SUCH A PLAYER THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO PLAY DVD AUDIO AND SACD? :ANY REPLIES WOULD BE APPRECIATED AS I HAVE TO MAKE A BUYING DECISION THIS WEEK

Lots of detail at low volume

Forums

I am trying to find the best preamp/amp and speaker combo to provide me with a lot of detail at low volume, i.e. I can hear the recording without going deaf trying to listen to it. Someone suggested Parasound Monoblocks. I have a big room (20 x 40) with Cathedral ceilings. I listen to just about everything, but mainly bluegrass (Bela Fleck, Allison Krause, Seldom Scene), jam bands (Dead, Widespread)and occasionally country.

Budget of about $12,000 to $18,000.

Thanks!

The City was yesterday touched by twenty-seven inches of snow. In the Lower East Side, red, black, and green fire escapes were given pure, white highlights. On Orchard Street, a single figure could possibly be seen trudging through the heavy downfall, an umbrella in one hand, a burning cigarette in the other.

Need Help w/Flat Panel Speakers

Forums

I just bought a plasma this weekend. I haven't had a chance to listen or even look at any flat panel speakers. What would you guys recommend? I have and Elite so I would like to stay with black speakers up front for the l/c/r. I also need to keep them wall mounted. I have no floor space at all. The rear surrounds can be on wall or inwall. Whatever you guys would recommend. Give me some ideas where to look guys. I'm a new guy on the block and I'm already lost.

Nice animated short that's one part Green Lantern, one part The Monkey's Paw, and one part Brazil—that is, if you also watch the director's cut ending.

Unreleased Fillmore East, Fillmore West, and Winterland performances available as 128kbps streams. I haven't been able to get it working completely glitch free, but some of these performances are pretty amazing and I'd buy 'em if they were available in a non-compromised format. Wolfgang, BTW, was Bill Graham's birth name.

I emailed my cousin, the gorgeous and talented Jean Carwile Masteller, about the wonders of reading <A HREF="http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:jDVL8c_Arv0J:etext.virginia.edu/toc… Mather on the internets and she countered with the fabulous Whitman Hypertext Archive. Both are courtesy of the University of Virginia's digital library project, where my old friend Thorny Staples is helping Mr. Jefferson's university do wonders in the electronic age.
