Jazzfan's Speaker Tuning Devices

We've only been snowed in for less one day and already I'm beginning to go stir crazy. I used the free time to take some pictures of my various speaker tuning devices and I've attached the first one to this post and the others to the post which follow this one (I can't figure out how to attach more than one file at a time). Please take a look at the pictures so that you'll understand my comments below.

Anyone heard or lived with this little gem. Auditioned this weekend amongst many others in the 2K price range. One of the most "open" box floorstanders I've heard in that price range, and oodles of detail. Needless to say I was impressed. Probably a good thing the dealer only special orders them otherwise who knows!

Grammy Awards 2006

It's the ultimate talent show each year, and I don't think you'll find a bigger collection of musical firepower under one roof (Live 8 was outdoors after all): Paul McCartney, U2, Madonna, Gorillaz, Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Sly Stone, Herbie Hancock, and on and on.

Tony Bennett: The Good Life Biography

Forums

Just finihsed reading TB Bio The Good Life. Very interesting person and a great talent. I doubt that anyone can claim the longevity as his professional career span is approaching 60 years. Reading about the business side of the record business is very interesting and it is no wonder the bigs have so much trouble. Makes you wonder how many really good A&R people there have really been over the years. It also is a testament that a successful career full of extensive traveling, vices, and time away from home often causes domestic strife.

[Kalman Rubinson wrote about the first batch here.—E…;] Remastered from the original two- and three-channel master tapes using the DSD process, these 10 new SACDs present the material exactly as it was recorded, without equalization, filtering, or other tampering.

7 inch Turntables

I posted this on Hi Fi choice forums, and haven't received an appropriate answer yet. I have a large collection of rock 45rpm 7 inches, which I know can sound good...but my Music Hall table's tracking angle is wrong, and you get that characteristic weak, distorted sound from the 7 inches. I was wondering if anyone ever made (or still does make) a dedicated, 7 inch ONLY player. Note, I'm not talking about the retro suitcase players or portable players, but an actual semi-hi fi table (but like..a "mini" version
