Yamaha 1500 or should opt for the full blown,BPT modified Alesis masterlink ?The price difference will be enormous since i have to buy the Alesis from the States and import it over here.I want to transfer most of my vinyl to cd,so, good sound quality is a must.Any other media will do.It doeasn't have to be cd. A sacd recorder perhaps ? Dup,that was a joke.Don't start.

I've got a ss copy of this lp by "Simply Vinyl".Is this the only company that made a copy of this record or are there any better ones ?

Back in the early 90's when I started to listen to high quality music there was basically CD and LP sources. Now there are so many more formats. SACD, DVD audio etc. What are the differences between CD, SACD, and DVD Audio? Why are good SACD players so much more expensive than good CD players? How come some SACD players only play two channel music? What's the point and the benefit of buyin an SACD player that only outputs two channel music? Are there DVD audio players that only output two channel music?

Reading July issue, I just seen the ad for CHORD, the ad references a Paul Bolin STEREOPHILE review..FINAST,ULTIMATE....what would it be if it met mfg's PUBLISHED spec's? Come on, so many Ultimates so many finasts, surely some are just mediocre. How can anything be Ultimate if it doesn't even meet advertised, published specs, which infers it doesn't meet FTC requirments for a CONsumer product...nothing being downe about this seemingly MAJOR shortfall.

I have ~40/feet of Red Dragon cable. I could use some help on two items. Where can I find the specifications on this Cable...Google is not returning any Hits which leads me to believe that they're out of business (?). Secondly, in that I am unable to locate the Cable and get a price, does anyone know about what this is going for per foot? If I recall, I purchased this circa 1999 and I paid ~$6.00/Foot. But trusting my memory is a dangerous thing as it's not getting any better with age... :-(
