Just wanted to say Hello, let ya'll know a bit about me. I've been involved with the hobby since I was a wee lad in the late 60's, Gramps had a 1958 EL84 driven Pilot console, He's passed now and I got the Pilot, love ya Gramps!!! First audio purchase Thorens 125mkII w/SME 3009II arm in '77. This is my baby. unless I spend $1000's more it's staying. As are my Martin Logan speakers. I have about 4000 LP's, quite a few cd's.
In Wes's article from the Stereophile web site on the aquisition of Polk Audio by Directed Electronics, he mentions DE's "other" loudspeaker company, Definitive Technology. I'd just like to point out that Directed Electronics also owns a/d/s/, which is still in the business of designing and selling compact, high quality speakers and subwoofers, primarily for the custom install market. I only mention this because I happen to be a satisfied owner of five of them (three HT400LCR's & two HT300's). You can check them out at adst.com .
I currently own a Project 1.2 turntable with a Grado Gold cartridge, and Audioquest sorbothane record mat. I'm using a Project Phono Box, but thinking of upgrading to a Project Phono Box SE. What tweaking ideas does everyone have for this or similar 'tables? Specifically I'm thinking of tweaks that are CHEAP or FREE.
Hello having a little trouble postings my rigs under the dotted line so I don't have to type so much any ya'll will understand partly how it might sound, not very good with the computer stuff though, Thanks in advance!!
Peace Craig
