What's the minimum room size for something like the Monitor Audio RS6?
I'm looking to get my first hifi system. Ideally I'd like to get some smaller floorstanders - something along the lines of the Monitor Audio RS6 or B&W DM603 S3 or Focals. These seem like they'd do the best job of providing enough bass for my listening (mostly jazz and classical, but some rock and pop - no rap/hip hop/country) without needing a subwoofer.
But my room is small, something like 12x10. And the system will have to be on the long axis.
Would I be setting myself up for trouble?
Thanks!

Hello,
In the review of the latest MF X series of components,I was a little surprised to see no comparison of the latest X series components (V8) with that of its previous incarnation, the V3. IIRC, Sam Tellig really liked the V3 series. A comparison between the two would have been much appreciated.....

One of the local radio stations plays Musical Star Streams on Sunday nights. It's a very funky, electronic, eclectic mix of music from all over the world and mostly just weird. However, it is a blast to listen to. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that it is widely available either streamed or as a set program.
I was just curious if any of you guys ever listen to Musical Star Streams? If not, give it a try. It will most certainly play with your system and stretch it out to its limits...though it's totally electronic.

Hola,
I've always loved the year end "Best of" lists, but I get all discombobulated regarding when what came out, or I forget that something came until it's too late.
So, in that spirit, how about some "Best of 2006" that are from BEFORE 2006, but that you formed a relationship with in 2006?
I have a few in mind.
1) Phil Manzanera had a good year in 2005. He released "6pm," "50 Minutes later," and "Vozero," all between June and October of that year.
