Hi, first time poster on this forum and short term lurker.
I've been a subscriber to Stereophile since the mid-80s and bought a pair of Spica TC-50s just after college.
The local dealer who sold them to me commented that the electrolytic caps are probably close to going out. The drivers are still in great condition and I love this little speaker.
Has anyone given it a try? And if so what were your thoughts. Did you use 2 identical amps (vertical) or two different amps (horizontal). Did you use an external active crossover & bypass the speakers passive crossover? In the end was it worth the expense & the trouble. Just toying with the idea. I've read many positive comments & a few negatives. Thanks
Dear All,
The Musical Fidelity website currently opens up on a discussion about "hi-fi or music system" with the conclusion leading to an "important product announcement" scheduled for 1st June 2007, which I believe was originally to be announced on 1st May.
Given the nature of the discussion (the need for sufficient power) I assume this new product will be a power or integrated amp. Given the recent additions/revamps of the kW and X series I assume the new product will be from (or replacement of) the A5 or A3.5 series.
I've read Stereophile equipment recommendations since the mag's halcyon days in New Mexico. Positive reviews, past and present, have never gone beyond recommending AUDITIONING. Further there have been frequent cautions regarding placing trust in auditions outside one's own home and one's own system.
