if you are on the cutting edge of both audiophile sound and wireless networking, i'd love to hire you to finish a long project i've had to set up a wireless iTunes server (running windows not mac unfortunately) in my house. I'm in Laurel Canyon on the far Hollywood side. I've had help on both the computer side and the audio side, but it would be nice if i could find someone who specialized in both.
I'm interested in attracting a younger audience to high-end audio. But is this possible? Sometimes, I feel that bringing a younger crowd to our hobby should be no problem at all. Young people love music, love their iPods. So: Why not? (When I say "young people," I'm talking about college kids, kids who are out on there own, working, spending some of their own money, beginning to make their own decisions. I don't expect 15-year olds to be rocking the hi-fi.)
Recently, in the blog, I tried to write a little bit about the differences between listening to gear and listening to music. We come to this hobby from a love of music, but sometimes, it seems, that love becomes directed more towards the gear.
This, I find, is weird.
