Well its been a while, months, since I last posted. sorry if this runs on, its kinda not well thought out.

I have a little mid-fi or low-fi or somewhere fi system depending on who you talk too.

I bought a Behringer DEQ2496, its not perfect but what component is?

to my ears it is

1)equal or better then the cambridge azur 340c when used as a dac with my pioneer DVD player. In every way i can think of. when the DEQ is off

2)the future of all things budget

Ah. Smog's A River Ain't Too Much To Love is one of my very favorite albums, and certainly an album that meets my still-developing hi-fi requirements. It sounds great. I fell in love with it right around the time I was discovering hi-fi at home, which makes it, for me, extra-special.

So, I am anxiously awaiting Woke On A Whaleheart, Bill Callahan's first album released under his own name, and his first complete work since A River.

I am currently looking into purchasing a pair of floorstanding speakers. I have been looking into associaed reviews, which are indicating that ProAc Studio 140 are a great product.
Sure but what about MOnitor Audio RS 8 or RS 6?
I have seen some of the forum comments about the Monitor Audio RS6 & RS8 and they too seem well respected.

Naturally the associated costs are quite a bit different.
Though I would love to have a acoustically treated listening environment, that's not to be... at the moment. More a typical living room.

So a little black kid goes into a hardware store, see's a garden implement/tool. Asks what is that thing over there? Pointing at the garden tool, the store guy says, Oh, that's a HOE...the little kid looks puzzled...Responds, that ain't no Hoe, my sister's a hoe and she don't look nutin' like that! I'm so tired of asking you to send me a replacement copy for Dec 06 Stereophile. First I emailed tens of times and then left messages at the sub service bulletin board. To my surprise, there was no feedback at all. It's April now and you have neglected my requests for 4 months. What an absolute disregard and indifference! Is there any one at customer serivce department? Don't you check your email server and its operating policy at all?
