Drinking Games with the King of Beans

Drinking Games with the King of Beans

I discovered Erik Satie while in college. The music seemed perfectly fit for such strange and brightly-colored cartoon mornings, rainy afternoons, very sad and lonely drunken nights. Perfectly fit for a dude who felt out of time with himself, a mishmash of incomplete angles and ideas, a dance party, a moonlit walk along a muddy trail, a stranger, a desperate fuck.

Heinlein in Hollywood

Heinlein in Hollywood

The Space Review has published an interesting look at Heinlein's collaborations with filmmakers. You've got to love an article that contains lines like this: "To the extent that such an awful piece of filmmaking can actually have a message, Rocketship X-M has a shallow and not terribly original message that nuclear war is bad for children and other living things. The universe is hostile, God hates us, and we’re all doomed. Have a nice day."

Subscription RENEWAL

Well, I just re-duped for 2 mo' years. Stereophile says I is impotent, it gave me 24 issues for the price of under $20. Yet I received an e-mail "special offer" 3 years for slightly mo' than $35.!! It is a better deal to go to the sub renewal page, directly, not the special offer sent to me. I don't think the specail offer was a scam, just screwey. Ever gonna review Helix from Legacy, I'm sure this system will smoke any one they ever tested, is that what they are afraid of, B&W, Wilson and a few others are big advertisers. HELIX baby.

May Issue Has Arrived!

Ha, I got mine early this month. She was a welcome sight too. It rained all day here and I got soaked off and on. Driving home, all I wanted was a hot cup of coffee and some audio relaxation. But, I enjoyed the hearth and home just a little more with the latest issue as a welcome surprise.

In a previous thread I had mentioned that I was going to get one of those Oppo players to replace the dead player in our bedroom and report back as to whether or not it really sounds worth a hoot. Well, Wes beat me to the punch in the May issue.
