Very new to the Record/Vinyl listening game. Recently was given a large cache of Vinyl. Bear with me here. Looking into purchasing a record player/turntable.
What I need is a few things: something I can hook up to a receiver while at work, easily portable preferred and also use at home. What do I need to look for so I can move the table from work to home having different set-ups at both places?
Now Sheryl Crow wants us all to join in and save the planet by rationing toilet paper. This may affect many of you, butt not me as I have an ample supply of her sheet music I've using for years for just that purpose.
Global warming never sounded so scarry for me up until now. Vote with you're....uh...never mind.
Things will look rosie for all those hedging their corn cobbs for a rise in market prices. Midwesterner's rejoice.
Jim Austin's "As We See It" essay explores some fascinating parallels between the evolution of visual art and the audiophile quest. For me, at least, it also provokes a question regarding the relationship, if any, between the visual and audio preferences of audiophiles. My main system is in a room that also houses lots of art, most of which is impressionist. My system is biased a bit to the warm side. Do the guys who pursue "accuracy" tend also to prefer realism in the art they enjoy?
There are less than three weeks to go before the Home Entertainment Show takes place on Friday May 11th through Sunday May 13th in New York City's Grand Hyatt Hotel and I was wondering if any forum members were planning to attend.
I will most likely attend on Friday since I work right in midtown Manhattan and may attend one or both of the weekend days if the weather is bad. (If the weather is good I'll be out riding my bicycle!)
You Need this SACD!!!!!!
Not only is Telarc's customer service first rate, but the newest Tierney Sutton release: On The Other Side, is superb. I own her previous Telarc release of Dancing In The Dark, but this new one in DSD is as lovely as Ms. Sutton her self.
You will think of your self as the human microphone wind screen, that is how close you feel to her. Any closer, your lips would be on hers and she'd be calling the police! LOL
