How do you deal with summer heat?

Like many of you, I have a listening room that is quite small. It also, unfortunately, is in a part of the house that gets quite hot in the summer (I'm in Philadelphia, which can definitely get well into the 90s during the summer-- that's high 30s for you metric folks). My wife, in an act of mercy, got me an air conditioner for the room (at least as far as audio goes, I'm all solid state, but have two tube guitar amps in the room that can also generate a lot of heat).

Prince...

I'm glad to see you guys covering Princes alternative distribution methods. He's been at this for a while. There was a big stink when he did this the first time with his Musicology album. I found an article, its got some great tid bits in it like:

"I am violently against this," one senior distribution executive says. "This is worse than 49 cent singles. The charts are supposed to represent what consumers are spending money on. With the Prince album, there is no choice."

The March 1999 issue of Stereophile is my last as the magazine's Equipment Reports Editor. I have accepted a job elsewhere in the industry, and, as a public relations consultant, will be actively promoting this wonderful hobby of ours in a different capacity.
